Professional expertise

Teaching Style and Experience

Having spent many years as a full-time yoga teacher, Nicky’s extensive experience and depth of knowledge has been gained from studio teaching at the highest level. To date, she has taught over 10,000 public group classes, supporting countless students in building an individualised and therapeutic approach to all aspects of the yoga practice.

Specialising in bone morphology and contemporary anatomy, Nicky’s teaching begins with a foundation of functionality. She emphasises skilfully adapting the postures to suit the individual needs of every student to create an accessible and inclusive class environment that welcomes all practitioners regardless of their age, size, anatomical differences, or athletic ability.

Known for her warmth and personable approach, Nicky has the capacity to make complex subjects feel simple and digestible. She is dedicated to empowering teachers to support their students in building a sustainable asana practice as the foundation to the deeper, more transformative inner work.

Lived Experience

Personal Practice and Teaching Style

Immersed in the path of yoga since 2007, Nicky remains a practitioner and student as much as a teacher. Having discovered yoga at the beginning of her process of recovery from addiction, Nicky knows first-hand that the ancient traditions offer a powerful framework to guide and inspire emotional balance and spiritual growth.

Her deep personal interest in Eastern philosophy and psycho-spiritual development inform her teaching at a deep level. She weaves together timeless wisdom, fuelled by her own insight and personal experience to offer various integrated practices that enliven students to embark on their own healing path and support that of those around them. Her personal experience lives in the heart of what she teaches.

Personal Development

Training Background

Nicky continues to take numerous workshops and training programmes to deepen her practice, refine her teaching skills and expand her educational knowledge. She has trained extensively with many renowned teachers worldwide including Paul Grilley, Sarah Powers, Bernie Clark, Josh Summers, Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield, Patrick Creelman and Tiffany Cruikshank, to name just a few.

With a keen interest in trauma-informed practices to support inclusivity, Nicky has studied with the TCTSY. She is also hugely influenced by the work of trauma and addiction expert, Gabor Maté and is a graduate of the Professional Compassionate Inquiry Program.

Her profound interest in functional anatomy and fascia science has led her to embark on regular cadaver dissection studies at the Trecchi Human Academy and Kings College London, with globally renowned clinical anatomist, John Sharkey, and fascia expert, Joanne Avison. Nicky has also attended various workshops with leaders in the fascia research community, including Carla Stecco, Robert Schleip, Gil Hedley, Jaap Van der Val and Andrzej Pilat.

What our clients say

Highlight Testimonial

“My learning journey with Nicky has been one of the most transformative experiences in my path as a yoga teacher and practitioner. Each module felt like peeling back a new layer of understanding—not just about the practice, but also about myself as both a teacher and a human being.

Nicky’s teaching style is clear, methodical, professional, and deeply compassionate. She has a unique gift for making complex concepts both simple and applicable, while holding space for each student’s emotional process along the way. Her way of teaching anatomy and biomechanics is practical, clear and accessible, yet at the same time profound—opening doors for deeper exploration.

Beyond the technical knowledge, what I appreciate most about Nicky is her authenticity and her ability to teach from the heart and from her own embodied healing experience. The way she transmits the spirit of yoga—both Yin and Yang—nourishes and informs, at a deep level, how I practice and how I hold space for others as well.

I deeply resonate with her teachings, and having had the privilege of sharing a retreat with her, I can confidently say that she is exactly the same person online and in person. Her coherence and integrity in how she shows up are truly inspiring. I carry her teachings with me every time I step onto the mat and into the role of holding space for others.”
